March 17th in Butte, Montana has become a long-standing tradition for the band. As always, people can find us playing on stage at the Silver Dollar Bar right after the parade. Friends and family gather to standing-room-only capacity and join in to sing and sway with their favorite Irish songs. Later on in the evening, Dublin Gulch hosts the annual Handing Down the Heritage Show at the Butte Civic Center. The featured performers are members of the Tiernan School of Irish Dance. This year found us supplying the background music for a lovely segment of National Public Radio's Here and Now with Robin Young. Robin conducted a delightful interview with 85 year old John Shea about his Irish heritage, mining, and the best city in America, Butte. To listen to the entire interview go to http://www.hereandnow.org/2010/03/rundown-317-2/#3 and click on Listen -Butte, Mt Celebrates The Luck Of The Irish.
